INTI International Education Scholarship Eligibility

Before applying, international students should understand the main eligibility conditions:

  1. The scholarship is available only to new international students enrolling at INTI.
  2. Applicants must submit their latest official academic results from the current year.
  3. Meeting the minimum eligibility requirements does not guarantee an award. Applications remain subject to approval by INTI International University & Colleges.
  4. Students can receive only one scholarship or award listed in the applicable scholarship brochure.
  5. Scholarships are generally offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
  6. Applications submitted after the stated deadline will not be considered.

What Does the INTI Scholarship Cover?

The scholarship is primarily intended to reduce tuition fees during the first year of the award period.

The award applies to the programme for which the student has been accepted and is valid for study at eligible INTI campuses in Malaysia. If a student changes their programme or requests a transfer to another INTI campus, the scholarship may be reviewed or discontinued, depending on INTI's approval.

The scholarship amount may be calculated according to factors such as:

  • Semester duration
  • Course load
  • Number of credits
  • Subjects taken

The award does not cover English Programme tuition fees.

Fees Not Covered by the Scholarship

Students should understand that the scholarship does not cover every cost associated with studying in Malaysia.

The award cannot be exchanged for cash or another benefit. Students may still be responsible for expenses such as:

  • Application and registration fees
  • EMGS-related charges
  • Insurance
  • Student administration fees
  • Visa renewal costs
  • Resource and assessment fees
  • Franchise fees charged by partner universities, where applicable
  • Other applicable institutional charges

The scholarship is also not automatically transferable between INTI campuses. Any transfer request requires approval from INTI.

In addition, the award does not normally apply to periods when students study at an overseas partner university or participate in an eligible Semester Abroad Program (SAP).

Academic Requirements for Scholarship Recipients

Students who receive the INTI International Education Scholarship must remain full-time students at INTI throughout their programme.

To continue receiving the scholarship, recipients must maintain the academic standards required by INTI. In particular, students are expected to achieve full passes in all subjects.

Failure to meet the required academic performance may result in the scholarship being suspended for a semester. Fees already paid for a suspended semester are not refunded because of the scholarship suspension.

If the student later meets the required academic standard, the scholarship may be restored for a subsequent semester, provided that the original award is still valid. Otherwise, the scholarship may be considered terminated.

What Happens If a Student Leaves INTI?

Students who leave their programme and enrol at another university or college in Malaysia may be required to repay the scholarship amount received during their time at INTI.

However, INTI may consider waiving repayment where a student withdraws because of medical circumstances. Appropriate medical documentation must be provided for consideration.

For medical deferment of one semester, the student may retain the same scholarship offer. Deferments lasting longer than one semester depend on the availability of the scholarship at that time.

Other Responsibilities of Scholarship Students

Scholarship recipients are expected to follow INTI's rules and policies throughout their studies.

Students must:

  • Pay tuition and other applicable fees on time.
  • Follow INTI's academic and student regulations.
  • Maintain the required academic performance.
  • Participate in student activities or community projects when requested.
  • Cooperate with reasonable promotional activities, which may include interviews, photographs or other marketing activities.
  • Complete other responsibilities assigned under the scholarship conditions.

Students who fail to meet their obligations may have their scholarship suspended or terminated.

International Office and Student Activities

Recipients who receive a scholarship valued at RM5,000 or more may be asked to contribute up to 40 hours per year to activities arranged by INTI.

These activities may include:

  • International office support
  • Marketing and promotional activities
  • Student services
  • Extracurricular programmes
  • Peer counselling
  • Administrative assistance

Failure to complete these responsibilities without an acceptable reason may lead to suspension or termination of the scholarship.

Important Points Before Applying

The INTI International Education Scholarship can help eligible international students lower their tuition expenses in Malaysia. However, applicants should carefully review the current scholarship brochure and programme-specific requirements before submitting an application.

Key points to remember: the award is not guaranteed simply because minimum requirements are met, only one scholarship may generally be awarded, applications may be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and recipients must continue meeting INTI's academic and administrative requirements.

Note: Scholarship amounts, deadlines, eligible programmes and other conditions can change. Students should verify the latest information directly with INTI International University & Colleges before applying.
